As a believer, do not show favouritism.

Preacher:
Passage: James 2:1-13
Service Type:
  • the book of James is about the unconcern of out trial of faith
  • believers in Christ must not show favouritism
  • James - imperative tone - do this, that
  • but it is shown in a caring way
  • 'Brothers and Sisters'
  • we have been elevated to stand together as brothers and sisters
  • if you needed help, would you go to the people you have helped? or would you be scared that you would lose your superiority and authority?
  • 5 ' Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?'
  • favouritism is wrong because  there is a breach between you and God
  • love thy neighbour as thyself
  • favouritism and discrimination is a horrible sin. James tells us not to do it.
  • show mercy from one to another
