the book of James is about the unconcern of out trial of faith
believers in Christ must not show favouritism
James - imperative tone - do this, that
but it is shown in a caring way
'Brothers and Sisters'
we have been elevated to stand together as brothers and sisters
if you needed help, would you go to the people you have helped? or would you be scared that you would lose your superiority and authority?
5 ' Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?'
favouritism is wrong because there is a breach between you and God
love thy neighbour as thyself
favouritism and discrimination is a horrible sin. James tells us not to do it.
