Thoughts on old age

- The sun is setting
Once more her light is in flame over the mountains
More beautiful than in daytime
night is approaching
But the night too is good
When there is someone who says:
I am with you
Lord, thus I think when evening comes:
Stay with me,
guard me
in the silent hours of the night.
I am tired
from much toil and sorrow.
Let me rest in you.
- When evening comes,
I look for peace.
The day was long
and full of toil.
It is not important
what I bring with me-
I take it out of my hands-
important is what I receive,
not what I say,
but what I hear.
Therefore my prayer
is more than talking.
It is resting.
Still return to God,
return to peace.
