Fellowship focus 3 - July 1997

Holiday Club (August 26th to 29th 1997)

In the Hounslow West area, there are many children who know nothing, or virtually nothing about the Lord Jesus Christ. As a local church, we should be concerned that as many people as possible are given the opportunity to get to know him, who he is, and what he has done

To that end, we plan to have a bible-based Holiday Club during the summer school holidays. The aims are:

  • To reach as many children as possible with the gospel.
  • To get more children to come to church and Sunday School on a regular basis
  • To reach more familes

The children's ages will be 5-11, but with a little flexibility at the lower end. We intend to meet each day from 10.00 to 11.30 a.m. at the church. The meeting will consist of a spiritual part for the first half, comprising a bible-based talk, some singing and a memory verse. The second half will concentrate on games, quizzes, crafts and other activities. Towards the end of the Holiday Club, we hole to invite the children's families to see what they've been doing, and to hear what they've been taught - providing another opportunity to witness for Christ.

As you can imagine, it will take a lot of organisation to get this important work off the ground, and several members have already committed themselves to help prepare and run the club. We would welcome any church member who is willing to give their time, energy, ideas and effort to this venture. If you would like to help, please talk to the pastor or myself.

Meanwhile, please pray with us that the Holiday Club will be a success, specifically that many children will come, enough help will be available, they will enjoy themselves, the gospel will get through, and the glory will go to God.

Mike.
