One in a million
Have you ever watched films of those incredible creatures of the oceans, the whales? Sadly, even with the increased protection they now enjoy, like so many of God's creatures, they are still under threat from man.
My wife and I were so moved by this that we decided to 'adopt' one. That is, we are told of any sightings and views of 'our' humpback whale.
How do they know 'our' whale? Interestingly, in the same way that every human has unique fingerprints, so a whale is known by the markings on its tail flukes.
Do you ever feel that among the teeming millions you are just one of a crowd, unimportant and unknown, just a number?
Well, God knows each one of us. And he sees us as unique individuals. The Bible puts it this way, 'every hair of our head is numbered'.
Yes, God knows and cares about you. You are so precious to him that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into the world, not to condemn but to save you.
